We kicked off the Year 2025 on a high note, more resolute than ever about building more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient communities in Kenya.
From January 15 to 17, 2025, we had the incredible pleasure of attending the 3rd Private Adaptation Investment Bootcamp (PrivABoo) SME Core Group Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya.
Represented by our communications coordinator Ms. Verarita Wananyanga and our Operations Manager Mr. Dennis Mwangi, we received timely insights into “Value Creation through Mainstreaming Gender in Adaptation Finance”.
The three-day workshop in the fourth module of our PrivABoo learning journey saw us cover the basics of gender, diversity, and equity / Inclusive adaptation products & services on day 1. Here, we delved deeper into what it means to apply a gender lens at Moto Hope Capital and why it is especially important for us as an Adaptation SME to better serve our climate-vulnerable communities.
On day 2, we comprehensively covered Gender & Diversity in the Workplace / Inclusive Value Chains. It was quite interesting to evaluate how we promote inclusion at MHC and what areas could use more gender-inclusive actions and strategies.
While on Day 3, our 15-minute interview presented a great platform to share our successes and challenges and provide feedback on the program.
Peer learning with the rest of the cohort of adaptation SMEs from Kenya and Rwanda offered us a gainful glimpse into each other’s inclusive practices.
We are eager to put into great use the valuable tools shared in the workshop even as we continue to refine our climate adaptation strategies and to realize more impact with sustainable solutions that drive even the vulnerable to be agents of change!
