We were thrilled to attend the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Quarterly Meeting hosted by the UN Women Kenya and Global Compact Network Kenya (GCNK) this Wednesday, 7th August 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya.
Represented by our Operations Manager, Mr. Dennis Thuita Mwangi, we joined other key stakeholders including businesses, Government, and civil society, to receive and share vital lessons and opportunities, as well as collectively identify ways of advancing The Care Agenda in the Private Sector for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
Key emphasis was weighed on the need to recognize and value the care economy and reduce the burden of unpaid care work to promote economic inclusion among women in Kenya.
We in turn witnessed the presentation of the National Care Policy draft, which addresses key strategies for advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment within the private sector.
At Moto Hope Capital, we aim to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment for our clients and community. Hence, this remarkable meeting went a long way towards supporting our efforts.
